Britney Spears, Pamela Anderson, Danny DeVito? Make the Web's Most Wanted
Britney Spears, Pamela…
Say what you want about Britney Spears, she's still a marketing machine despite not releasing any singles for some time (and we should be grateful for that). Pamela Anderson may be getting up there in age, but she's still got it going on and has a few decades before catching up to Suzanne Somers, who also still has it going on. Then there is short, balding Danny DeVito, who is about the same age as Suzanne Somers and he, too, apparently still has it going on.
These were the past week's Web's Most Wanted, or Most Searched in terms of celebrity queries. People Magazine featured both Spears and Anderson among its most sought after subject matter. Danny DeVito made waves after his noticeably "inebriated" appearance on ABC Television's morning gab fest The View.
After announcing her divorce from Kevin Federline, Britney fended off allegations that she starred in a Honeymoon "sex tape" that of course surfaced over the internet and led to countless queries from those looking to get a piece of Britney Spears.
But it was this past week's odd behavior that had all the news media talking about Britney Spears. Throw in socialites Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan plus some revealing shots up Britney's skirt to reveal she is not wearing any panties, you instantly have a swarm of folks searching for stories, photos and whatever else they can get their hands on related to Spears.
Anderson still knows how to play the game. She is after all the person who pretty much invented the "celebrity sex tape that is not supposed to leak out to the public but does and boosts her celebrity even further". Following the announcement that she would be divorcing Kid Rock, the tabloids were ablaze with stories of her partying lifestyle that made Kid Rock suddenly look like some Disney character.
And speaking of Nicky Hilton, her sis has enjoyed a fair amount of press as well this past week thanks to new pal Britney. We don't know what's scarier: Britney Spears partying all night without any panties while raising two small children or the fact that Paris Hilton suddenly seemed like the sensible one.
According to The Bosh, Paris Hilton has backed out of a scheduled appearance at Monday's Billboard Music Awards because she wasn't happy with the jokes written for her, according to her rep Elliot Mintz.
"It is my understanding that some satirical references ridiculed some of her peers," Mintz, said in a statement on Saturday, according to the Associated Press. "Paris did not want to say anything that could appear hurtful or embarrassing about people she knows."
Whoa! Since when does that matter to Paris Hilton?
